Color Doppler ultrasound of normal carot

Vascular ultrasound is a non invasive method used to examine the the blood circulation in your veins and arteries

At the Ultrasound Clinic we perform a number of studies that evaluate your blood flow to various parts of the body.

These exams;

  • Locate and identify blockages and abnormalities

  • Detect blood clots in the major veins of the arms or legs

  • Determine whether the patient is good candidate for vascular procedure such as angioplasty

  • Evaluate the success of procedures that graft or bypass blodd vessels

  • Determine if there is an enlarged vessel (aneurysm)

  • Evaluate varicose vein

Evaluating circulation helps determine if there is risk of stoke or vascular disease. The most common exams are venous (vein) of the leg or arm to check for blood clots and Carotid Artery to assess blood flow to the brain
